Federal High Court grants Gadzama leave for judicial review
The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN, leave to apply for a judicial review. Gadzama is seeking an order of certiorari to quash a direction issued by the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee on July 29, 2026.
The application, filed in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1954/2026, names the Body of Benchers, the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee, the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Chris Alashi, Esq., and Ocha P. Ulegede, Esq. as defendants. The court, presided over by Hon. Justice Obiora-Atuegwu Egwuatu, has adjourned the matter to September 4 for a hearing, subject to service on the respondents.
