Federal Institute of São Paulo updates internationalization policies

The Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) has implemented new guidelines regarding its internationalization actions, linguistic policy, and the regulation of Language Centers (CeLin). Published on September 22, these three ordinances update previous regulations to better integrate international activities with teaching, research, extension, culture, innovation, and institutional management.

The update to the Internationalization Policy, established by Ordinance No. 6.049/IFSP, replaces the previous 2019 regulation. The revision was driven by institutional, academic, and social changes and was developed by a working group throughout 2025. The process included public consultation and analysis by groups focused on inclusion, diversity, and ethnic-racial relations to ensure the policy meets the needs of a multi-campus public institution.

Under the new framework, internationalization is treated as a transversal dimension. This approach encompasses coordinated actions between academic and non-academic communities, involving the sharing of knowledge, cultures, innovative practices, and social responsibilities. It includes both 'internationalization at home' and cross-border activities.
