Federal Police arrest suspect in Araçatuba for child abuse material sharing

The Brazilian Federal Police arrested a suspect in Araçatuba, São Paulo, following an investigation into the sharing of child sexual abuse material. The operation included search and seizure warrants.

The investigation was initiated after a crime report was submitted by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), an organization that alerts international authorities to crimes identified on digital platforms. Preliminary findings suggest that files containing child sexual abuse scenes were shared via platform chats.

The operation was conducted with the support of the Guardianship Council, and the victim was provided with assistance during the action. The suspect has been taken into custody and will be transferred to a prison facility.
