Federal Police cite security firms at Mangueirão stadium

The Brazilian Federal Police (Polícia Federal) issued citations against the home club and a private security firm following a football match between Paysandu and Brusque at the Mangueirão stadium in Belém.

Investigations revealed inconsistencies in the security plan submitted for the event. According to authorities, the required security project for large events had not been approved by the Federal Police, as it was submitted incomplete and past the established deadline. Additionally, inspectors identified security guards working without the mandatory extension course required for social events.

This enforcement follows the implementation of the new Private Security Statute in September 2024. The Federal Police noted that these irregularities are similar to those found during another football match at the same stadium on Sunday. Under current regulations, organizers must notify the Federal Police at least 24 hours in advance for events involving private security and must provide a signed security project for crowds exceeding one thousand people.
