ADPF requests recusal of Prosecutor General Paulo Gonet in Banco Master case

The National Association of Federal Police Delegates (ADPF) has formally requested that Prosecutor General Paulo Gonet recuse himself from investigations related to the Banco Master case. This request follows the release of a Federal Police report that mentions Gonet and Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes in connection with businessman Daniel Vorcaro.

In response to the report, Gonet opened an investigation into the Federal Police to determine if there was external interference in the document's production. The ADPF has criticized this move, arguing that the police were merely fulfilling a judicial order from Minister André Mendonça and that the investigation by the Prosecutor General's Office (PGR) has an “objective intimidating effect” on investigators.

Additionally, the intelligence entity Intelis has criticized the use of the Federal Police intelligence report in the Fake News inquiry. Intelis stated that the document does not follow established methodological standards for state intelligence and emphasized that intelligence reports are intended for risk analysis and decision-making, not as substitutes for formal criminal investigations or as tools for forming accusations.
