Federal Police investigation reveals messages between Daniel Vorcaro and Ricardo Magro

Messages recovered from Daniel Vorcaro’s phone by the Federal Police have revealed communications with Ricardo Magro, an individual described by authorities as a major tax evader. On November 17, 2025, the day of Vorcaro’s first arrest while attempting to leave Brazil, Magro sent a message stating, “My friend, sorry to bother you in the middle of this day, but I need to plan things here and today the people did not do what we had agreed.” The specific nature of this agreement or the identity of the individuals involved remains unclear.

Additional messages indicate previous interactions between the two, including a conversation in May 2024 where Magro inquired if Vorcaro was upset with him.

Separate communications between Vorcaro and businessman Flávio Carneiro regarding media operations have also surfaced. In these exchanges, Carneiro suggested that Vorcaro was “at home” at the Estadão newspaper and identified Rubens Ometto as being in “command” of the publication. Ometto, the founder and chairman of the Cosan group, had previously led a R$ 142.5 million debenture issuance that provided financial stability to the Estadão media group.
