Brazilian police dismantle drug rings and seize tons of narcotics

Law enforcement agencies in Brazil have conducted significant operations targeting drug trafficking and organized crime. In Araçatuba, São Paulo, the ‘Sem Saída’ operation dismantled a network involved in drug trafficking and money laundering. The investigation revealed a sophisticated structure in the São José neighborhood, including roles for sellers, lookouts, and money managers, with one investigated point moving over R$ 2 million. The operation included ten temporary arrest warrants and 21 search and seizure warrants.

In Santa Terezinha de Itaipu, Paraná, the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime (FICCO/PR) seized approximately 2.9 tons of marijuana. The drugs were found hidden within a legitimate shipment of iron scrap in a truck. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the shipment, and the case has been referred to the Federal Police.

In Araruama, Rio de Janeiro, an 18-year-old man was arrested after being found with a 9mm pistol and various quantities of cocaine, crack, and marijuana.
