Federal Reserve agricultural roundtable to be held in Cheyenne

Agricultural producers from Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska are scheduled to meet with Federal Reserve economists on September 24 at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne. The regional roundtable, organized in coordination with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, aims to gather direct insights into agricultural economic conditions.

John Hewlett, a ranch and farm management specialist from the University of Wyoming, helped recruit a diverse group of operators to represent the state’s livestock and crop sectors. The session provides an opportunity for producers to discuss specific challenges that may not be fully captured in standard economic data, such as irrigation water issues, arid environments, and transportation and marketing difficulties.

The Federal Reserve utilizes these qualitative discussions alongside surveys and economic data to inform public resources, including the Beige Book and the quarterly Agricultural Credit Survey.
