Federal Road Safety Corps launches training for law enforcement

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched a series of training initiatives aimed at improving the professional capacity and mental well-being of its personnel and broader law enforcement agencies in Nigeria.

In collaboration with India’s Rashtriya Raksha University, the FRSC has commenced an international workshop in Abuja focused on stress management, emotional well-being, and psychological resilience. The program includes officers from the Nigeria Police Force, Immigration Service, Correctional Service, Customs Service, Federal Fire Service, and the Civil Defence Corps. Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed stated that the training is essential to help officers manage the psychological demands of emergencies, security challenges, and traumatic incidents to ensure sound decision-making.

Additionally, the FRSC is conducting a nationwide repositioning training for its Marshal Cadre. A recent session held in Ilorin, Kwara State, targeted officers in Ekiti, Kogi, and Kwara. This initiative, themed ‘Repositioning Marshals for Effective Service Delivery,’ focuses on operational efficiency, ethical conduct, and emotional intelligence as part of the agency’s 2026 Corporate Strategic Goals.
