Federal Territories Pardons Board meets to consider Najib Razak’s pardon
The Federal Territories Pardons Board met at Istana Negara to reconsider the pardon application of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. The meeting, which reportedly had Najib’s application as its sole agenda item, follows a postponement of the decision during a previous meeting on September 11.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh attended the session, arriving at approximately 7:48 a.m. and departing around 9:40 a.m. without making an official statement. Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar was also in attendance. As of the latest reports, no official announcement regarding the board's decision has been released.
Amid the proceedings, UMNO Secretary-General Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki drew public attention on social media with a brief “Alhamdulillah” post. While the post sparked widespread speculation regarding its connection to the meeting, Asyraf Wajdi has not provided a clarification. Additionally, Hannah Yeoh denied the authenticity of viral social media documents claiming she had signed house arrest orders for Najib, stating that she has reported the spread of such false documents to the authorities.
