Federal University of Goiás Medical School plans changes to ENAMED exam

On 3 August, the Directorate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Federal University of Goiás (FM‑UFG) met with the university’s Pro‑Rectory of Undergraduate Studies to discuss the implementation of the new ENAMED exam mandated by Provisional Measure 1370/2026. The measure introduces a two‑stage national medical training assessment, adding a fourth‑year test and making the exam a compulsory requirement for registration with the Regional Medical Council (CRM). Participants included FM‑UFG director Marcelo Rabahi, Pro‑Rector Lueli Nogueira Duarte e Silva, Pro‑Rector Adjunct Monarko Azevedo, and Institutional Information Director Paulo Vieira. The discussion covered the exam’s three pillars—student proficiency, course quality, and residency access—and the use of the TRI (Item Response Theory) scaling method for the 100‑question test. The meeting marked the start of a broader debate on how the faculty will adapt curricula, teaching staff, and administrative processes to meet the new requirements.
