Federal University of Paraíba research explores comics for teaching Brazilian history

Academic research from the Federal University of Paraíba explores the use of comics to teach the history of the Proclamation of the Brazilian Republic. The study aims to address gaps in traditional textbooks by utilizing graphic narratives, such as "Cai o Império! República vou ver!" by Angeli and Lilia Schwarcz, to help 9th-grade students better understand political concepts like oligarchy, coronelismo, and citizenship during the transition from the Empire to the Republic.
