Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina maternity benefit software error

The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has reported a software error that resulted in duplicate payments to 60 mothers receiving one-time maternity benefits. Instead of the intended 1,000 KM, several recipients received 2,000 KM at the beginning of October.

The Ministry stated that the error occurred during data retrieval from the database due to challenges associated with implementing new software. Following the overpayment, affected individuals received emails requesting that they return half of the funds.

Officials explained that because the funds were already credited to individual accounts, banks cannot withdraw the money without the account holders' consent. Consequently, the Ministry has requested that the recipients participate in the repayment process themselves.
