Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina raises July pensions, lowest now 706 KM
Effective July 2026 the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will increase pension payouts. The minimum pension rises by 40 convertible marks to 706 KM (from 666 KM), the guaranteed pension to 892 KM (up from 842 KM) and the average independent pension to about 900 KM.
The Federal Pensions and Disability Insurance Institute says the system remains largely funded by employee contributions, with the cantonal government acting as a guarantor since 2020. Officials warn long‑term sustainability depends on employment growth, wage levels and regular contribution collection.
A separate announcement expects June pensions to be paid on 3 July instead of the usual 5 July, and a further adjustment of roughly 5.8–6 % is slated for August, affecting more than 468,000 pensioners in the Federation.
