Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina approves 3.5% temporary pension increase

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina approved an akontativno (temporary) pension increase of 3.5 % to take effect on 1 July 2026. The measure is provisional; the final regular adjustment will be calculated after the Federal Statistical Institute publishes the official consumer‑price‑index and average‑salary growth data for the first half of 2026. The difference between the temporary and final rates will be paid retroactively to pensioners in September.

Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy Adnan Delić explained that the ministry has no influence over the percentage, which is determined solely by law‑based formulas. He noted that earlier projections differed from actual outcomes and that future adjustments will wait for the final statistical figures before being announced.
