The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced a total pension increase of 15.08 percent for 2026. This significant rise follows amendments to the Pension and Disability Insurance Law, which replaced an older model that would have capped increases at approximately 5 percent.

Federal Minister Adnan Delić confirmed that the final adjustment for the year will be reflected in September payments, which will include retroactive differences from July. For new pensioners with 40 years of service, the minimum pension will rise to 714 KM, while existing minimum pension recipients will receive approximately 691 KM.

The new calculation formula is based on a combination of average wage growth and the consumer price index. Implementing this new model required approximately 500 million KM in additional budget funds. In the banking sector of the Federation, preliminary data shows a net profit of 321.9 million KM for the first half of 2026, a 4.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
