Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to raise pensions by up to 6% in July

The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will carry out its second pension alignment on 1 July 2024, following the first adjustment on 1 January (11.2% increase, short of the promised 11.6%). The upcoming change is expected to raise pensions by roughly 5.8‑6%, meaning retirees will receive higher payments in August. The decision will be made by the Board of the Federal Pension and Disability Insurance and confirmed by the Federation government. The minimal pension now stands at 666.76 KM after a 36 fenings increase.

Deputy head of the retirees’ association, Haso Halilović, said he hopes the July alignment will be 5.8% and that, combined with other measures, the total rise this year could reach about 17%. He noted that roughly 468 000 pensioners live in the Federation, with nearly half barely subsisting. Halilović said he will meet with minister Adnan Delić on 10 June in Fojnica to discuss the issue.
