Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Raise Pensions in July

Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy Adnan Delić explained that the July pension adjustment in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will take effect on 1 July, with the increased amounts paid together with the August pension. The amendment to the pension law allows regular adjustments twice a year – in January and July – and the same procedure was used for the January increase.

A second increase is being prepared for July, expected to be decided by mid‑July and likely to add about 5.8‑6 % to pensions, bringing the total rise for the year to around 17 % as pledged by the authorities. The decision will be made by the Board of the Federal Pension and Disability Insurance Institution and confirmed by the Federation government. Pensioners and officials noted a narrowing gap between the roughly 546 000 employed and about 470 000 retirees, and residents of Novo Sarajevo receiving minimal pensions will also obtain a one‑time 70 KM allowance from the municipality.

The adjustments aim to ensure retirees receive the full percentage increase without loss, with any further differences to be settled in the September pension payment if new statistical data require it.
