Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina reports 33 pensioners over 100, oldest is 103
The Federal Pension and Disability Insurance Office in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina disclosed that 33 pensioners are over 100 years old, with the oldest beneficiary being 103. In total, nearly 8,000 pensioners are aged between 90 and 100, representing a significant share of the region's elderly population.
The office noted that these centenarians come from a wide range of occupations, including teachers, miners, doctors, craftsmen, civil servants and farmers. "Svaka od ovih brojki predstavlja životni put," the statement said, emphasizing the personal histories behind the statistics.
The data highlight the aging of generations that have lived through major social changes and underscore the institution’s ongoing role in supporting retirees across the Federation.
