Federation of Indian Associations celebrates US and India milestones

The Federation of Indian Associations-Chicago hosted a daylong event in Schaumburg, Illinois, to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States and India’s 80th Independence Day. The gathering at the Renaissance Convention Center drew over 800 attendees, including community members, business leaders, and elected officials.

The program featured a variety of activities, including a business expo, a patriotic parade with American and Indian flags, and a ceremonial flag-hoisting accompanied by national anthems. An artificial intelligence conference, facilitated by FIA Director Rajesh Narayan, addressed the impact of AI on business and society.

Cultural elements included a fashion show showcasing traditions from various Indian states, talent performances, and patriotic songs honoring Indian freedom fighters. Notable attendees included Consul General Somnath Ghosh and U.S. Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi.
