Federation of Korean Industries launches first Cishulin Star voting

The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) has commenced public voting for the inaugural ‘Cishulin Star’ program, running from October 26 to November 8. The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, aims to identify and promote excellent corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

The name ‘Cishulin’ is a portmanteau of CSR and Michelin, designed to highlight companies that create social value in areas such as environmental protection, support for vulnerable groups, community coexistence, and nurturing future generations. Out of 113 submitted programs, a committee of experts selected 20 finalists, consisting of 16 large and medium-sized enterprises and 4 small and medium-sized enterprises.

The final selection of ten ‘Cishulin Stars’ will be determined through a combination of public online and offline voting (50% total) and a specialized voting group of approximately 1,000 people (50%), followed by a final review by the Cishulin Committee. An awards ceremony is scheduled for late November. Additionally, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy plans to publish a ‘K-Social Value Survey’ report alongside a ‘Cishulin Guide’ featuring the selected companies.
