Federica Brignone documentary premieres at Rome Film Festival
The documentary “Federica – L’ultima olimpiade,” directed by Federico Gariboldi and Paolo Novelli, was presented at the Rome Film Festival. The film chronicles alpine skier Federica Brignone’s recovery from a severe injury sustained on April 3, 2025, involving a displaced fracture of the tibial plateau and fibular head, as well as an anterior cruciate ligament lesion.
The 92-minute production follows her journey from the 2025 World Cup finals through surgery and rehabilitation, culminating in her winning two gold medals in super-G and giant slalom at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Brignone noted that the film uses authentic, unacted footage to show her human side beyond athletic performance.
During the event, Brignone also offered words of encouragement to tennis player Jannik Sinner, who is currently managing an injury. She advised him to take the necessary time to recover fully to ensure long-term success.
