Federico Chiesa says he is happy at Liverpool amid transfer speculation
Italian forward Federico Chiesa, 28, joined Liverpool from Juventus in 2024 for a reported £12.5 million and is contracted until 2028. After two seasons under former manager Arne Slot in which he started only one Premier League match and scored five goals in 50 appearances, Chiesa has been linked with a possible return to Serie A.
Following the appointment of Andoni Iraola as Liverpool head coach, Chiesa scored in a 4‑2 pre‑season win over Sunderland and told reporters, "Right now, at the moment, I am happy here at Liverpool. I love the club, I love the fans, I love everything." He added that his focus is on proving himself under the new manager and that he is not actively seeking a move, although he acknowledges that "if I don’t find consistency in the Premier League, I’ll have to look elsewhere."
Italian clubs Juventus, Atalanta and Bologna have been reported as interested in a summer transfer, but Chiesa emphasised that his priority is a fresh start at Anfield and to earn more minutes under Iraola.
