Federico García Lorca manuscript to be published

The original manuscript of the short story ‘La gallina. Cuento para niños tontos’ by Federico García Lorca will be published as a facsimile edition. Written in the summer of 1928 and first published in 1934, the document contains the poet's handwritten corrections and strikethroughs.

The manuscript has been held in the archives of the Asociación de Amigos de Vicente Aleixandre, which is overseeing the publication. The release will feature a limited edition, non-sale version including a facsimile of the original alongside a typed and annotated transcription. The project is artistically designed by illustrator and art historian Carmen García Iglesias.

Production costs were fully covered by flamenco singer Miguel Poveda. The publication coincides with the 90th anniversary of García Lorca's death, which occurred in August 1936 during the Spanish Civil War.
