Federico Monzino faces charges over Raoul Bova private audio leak

The Rome Prosecutor's Office has notified Federico Monzino, a 29-year-old entrepreneur and PR manager, of the conclusion of preliminary investigations regarding the theft and leak of private audio recordings belonging to actor Raoul Bova.

Investigators allege that Monzino recorded private conversations between Bova and model Martina Ceretti using Ceretti’s phone on July 5, 2025. The material was subsequently handed over to Fabrizio Corona on July 9, leading to its viral publication on the format ‘Falsissimo’.

Monzino faces charges of attempted extortion, violation of private correspondence, and the subsequent disclosure of its contents. Prosecutors claim Monzino attempted to obtain money from Bova by threatening to release the recordings. The investigation noted that after obtaining Bova's contact information, messages were sent to the actor via a Spanish number, posing as a person in financial distress. Ceretti has stated she never authorized the publication of the material.
