Fedetur launches 2026 awards to recognize sustainable tourism in Chile

The Federation of Tourism Companies of Chile (Fedetur) has officially launched the Fedetur Awards 2026. Held at Sky Costanera, the announcement introduced the theme ‘Herencia Viva: el turismo que nace del territorio, vive en su gente’ (Living Heritage: tourism that is born from the territory, lives in its people).

The awards aim to recognize individuals, companies, organizations, and initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of Chile's tourism industry. The focus is on highlighting local identity, cultural and natural heritage, and the role of local communities in positioning Chile as a competitive international destination.

There are multiple categories available for nomination, including Tourism Communicator, Digital Tourism Ambassador, and Best Tourism Company. A special category, ‘Forjador del Turismo’, will recognize distinguished career trajectories within the sector. Fedetur Executive President Mónica Zalaquett emphasized that the awards serve to visibility the protagonists driving economic growth and employment through regional tourism.
