FedEx faces protests in Oakland over military shipments to Israel
Hundreds of activists and union members gathered near a FedEx logistics center in Oakland, California, on October 9, 2026, to protest the company’s role in transporting military supplies to Israel.
The demonstration was organized by the Oakland People’s Arms Embargo, a grassroots coalition comprising over 30 organizations, including religious leaders, students, and union members. Protesters alleged that FedEx aircraft utilize the Oakland airport to transport F-35 fighter jet parts, which they claim support Israeli military operations in Gaza and Iran.
In addition to calling for an immediate halt to military shipments, participants criticized the company regarding labor practices and redistricting issues. Organizers noted that more than 20,000 Bay Area residents have signed petitions urging the Oakland city government and Port Authority to prohibit the transport of military goods to Israel via the local airport.
