Fedexcaza launches 13th hunting photography contest and denounces animal‑rights harassment
The Federación Extremeña de Caza (Fedexcaza) announced that registrations are open for its 13th hunting photography competition. The contest, part of the FECIEX 2026 calendar, invites photographers aged 14 and older to submit up to ten original images in two categories – Cazadores (hunting) and Naturaleza (nature). Sponsors include El Corte Inglés, Hospederías de Extremadura, Iberdoex and La Valenciana Calzados. A jury will select works for an exhibition during FECIEX, with public voting on Fedexcaza’s Facebook page; the final award ceremony is scheduled for 20 September.
In a separate statement, Fedexcaza condemned what it described as organized hate campaigns by animal‑rights groups that targeted a minor. Technical spokesperson José Ángel Durán called the attacks “tremendously desolating,” saying they crossed “all limits and red lines.” He defended hunting as a highly regulated, legal activity that contributes to wildlife management and forest fire prevention, urging respect for hunters and their role in conservation.
