Fedi Nuril Suffers Finger Injury While Training for Film ‘BAPAKMU KIPER’
Indonesian actor Fedi Nuril is starring as Warto, a former ‘tarkam’ (village football) goalkeeper in the upcoming comedy‑drama film BAPAKMU KIPER. To portray the role convincingly, director Ody Harahap required all cast members to undergo intensive football training, including specialised goalkeeper drills for Nuril.
During two weeks of preparatory practice, Nuril injured his thumb/finger while attempting a save in a training session. The production had arranged a personal coach and strength‑training regimen, but the injury occurred when he was hit by a ball kicked from outside the penalty box. The incident was reported alongside other on‑set challenges, such as minor injuries to supporting players.
The mandatory training was intended to make the football scenes realistic and to help actors internalise their characters’ movements. The film focuses on the rivalry between village football teams (tarkam) and highlights the physical demands on older players, a theme underscored by Nuril’s own experience on set.
