FEDOM approves baseball development plan using World Baseball Classic funds

The Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM) has approved a Baseball Development Plan for the Dominican Republic. The initiative will be funded by prize money earned from the country’s performance in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The plan aims to strengthen provincial and national district associations, foster new talent, and support coaches and athletes.

In the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), the Leones del Escogido have confirmed their coaching staff for the 2026-27 season under manager Ramón Santiago. The staff includes returning members such as Ronny Paulino and Jorge Mejía, alongside new additions like offensive coordinator Edwin Beard and instructor Pedro López.

In Panama, Jaime Robinson, president of the Panamanian Baseball Federation (Fedebeis), announced that the 24 gold medalists from the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games will receive a total economic incentive of $8,000. Additionally, the 2027 National Youth Baseball Championship is scheduled to begin on January 2.
