Fedora 45 release delayed to November due to critical bugs

The release of Fedora Linux 45 has been postponed again following a recent 'No-Go' decision by the Fedora Project. After missing the original October 20 release date, developers have identified several critical blockers that must be resolved before the software can be distributed.

Key technical issues include a compromised certificate within the 'ca-certificates' package related to eMudhra, and an AArch64 installation image for Fedora Server that exceeds the maximum permitted size. Additionally, the project is addressing stability issues involving Stratis encrypted storage pools, which can prevent systems from booting or cause them to drop into emergency mode. Other reported bugs involve LVM configurations with LUKS-encrypted physical drives and KDE Discover attempting to install outdated RPM packages from Fedora 44 repositories.

A follow-up Go/No-Go meeting is scheduled for October 29, 2026. If the identified blockers are successfully resolved, the new target release date is set for November 3, 2026.
