Feijóo Opens to Coalition with Vox, Sets Red‑Line Conditions

Alberto Núñez Feijóo told the Antena 3 programme El Hormiguero that he no longer rules out a governing pact with Vox leader Santiago Abascal. While expressing a preference to govern alone, he said any coalition would have “red lines”, including respect for the Spanish Constitution, the autonomous community system, gender‑equality measures and LGTBI rights – issues that have been excluded from recent regional agreements with Vox.

Feijóo also criticised the current government’s size, pledging a cabinet of no more than 15 ministers, and reiterated his support for a woman’s right to abortion and a nuanced stance on euthanasia. The comments come as Spain heads toward general elections, where coalition possibilities could shape the next government.
