Feijóo seeks to rebuild Latin American alliances for PP

Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of Spain's Partido Popular (PP), is engaging in diplomatic efforts to rebuild political alliances with right-wing leaders in Latin America. This initiative follows a perceived loss of influence in the region to Santiago Abascal and the Vox party.

Feijóo recently attended the inauguration of Keiko Fujimori in Peru, where he also held bilateral meetings with the presidents of Chile, José Antonio Kast, and Ecuador, Daniel Noboa. His efforts include maintaining ties with various regional leaders, such as Abelardo de la Espriella in Colombia, as the PP seeks to strengthen its standing and its influence within the European People's Party (PPE) framework.
