Feira de Santana and Brusque hold municipal ceremonies honoring football and citizens

On August 6, the municipal chamber of Feira de Santana convened a solemn session to celebrate Municipal Football Day. Councilor Pastor Valdemir, municipal sports superintendent Emerson Brito and Filemon dos Santos Neto, president of the football club Fluminense de Feira, spoke about football as a tool of transformation, noting its role in keeping youth away from drugs, improving mental health and fostering community pride. Pastor Valdemir said, “football is a tool of transformation.”

Later the same evening, the city council of Brusque marked the municipality’s 166th anniversary by awarding the title of Honorary Citizen to six individuals—Albertino Nazário, Arlindo Introvini Milani, Pastor Edélcio Tônio Tetzner, Joel Mendes, Jonas Krischke Sebastiany and Renato Marques de Mesquita. Councilor Felipe Hort highlighted that the honor “recognizes a history” and celebrates contributions to the city’s development.
