Feira de Santana driver arrested after attempting to run over police

In Feira de Santana, Bahia, a driver was arrested after a high-speed pursuit and an attempt to run over police officers. The incident began when authorities received reports of a white Volkswagen Gol driving recklessly and colliding with a parked vehicle.

During the confrontation, the driver attempted to strike officers with the vehicle while reversing at high speed. A police officer fired at the car's tire to stop it, causing shrapnel to strike a bystander, Alana Vitória Silva de Jesus. She was transported to the Hospital Geral Clériston Andrade in stable condition.

The driver, who showed signs of intoxication including aggression and the smell of alcohol, refused a breathalyzer test and was subsequently detained after resisting arrest.
