Feira de Santana expands Pace door‑to‑door transport for people with disabilities
The municipal Programa de Acessibilidade ao Cidadão Especial (Pace) in Feira de Santana has increased its fleet to ten adapted vans, allowing the service to serve 90 registered users with severe motor disabilities or reduced mobility. Launched in 2007, Pace provides free door‑to‑door transport for medical appointments and now also enables passengers to attend cultural and leisure activities such as shows and theatres.
Semob secretary Josivaldo Santana said the expansion will give beneficiaries greater independence and quality of life, emphasizing the city’s commitment to dignity and accessibility. Residents can apply for the service through the municipal social‑medical center, undergoing medical evaluation and social interview.
