Feira de Santana Gym Sexual Harassment Probe

Police in Bahia are investigating a sexual harassment case that occurred on July 19 at a condominium gym in Feira de Santana. A 35‑year‑old woman recorded the incident on her phone; the video shows a male resident lowering his shorts and masturbating while she exercised on a treadmill. The footage went viral on social media and prompted a report to the Civil Police and the specialized Women’s Protection Unit (DEAM).

Investigators have identified the suspect as a resident of the building, described in some reports as a 21‑ or 24‑year‑old personal trainer. He fled the scene before police arrived and remains at large. The crime is being treated as importunação sexual, punishable by one to five years’ imprisonment, and authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses. The condominium may also pursue internal sanctions, including possible expulsion of the resident under Brazilian condominium law.
