Feira de Santana Mayor José Ronaldo undergoes angioplasty

José Ronaldo de Carvalho, the mayor of Feira de Santana, underwent a successful angioplasty procedure at Hospital Santa Isabel in Salvador on Thursday, October 15. The medical intervention followed a series of episodes of malaise that began on October 7 and 8, with symptoms recurring on Monday, October 12.

After an initial cardiology evaluation in Feira de Santana, the 75-year-old mayor was transferred to the capital for further testing. He underwent catheterization on Wednesday, October 14, which led medical teams to recommend the angioplasty to clear arterial obstructions.

Following the procedure, the mayor was monitored in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) but has since been stabilized. He announced via social media that he expects to be discharged on Saturday, October 17. Per medical advice, he will reduce his workload for the next 15 days, focusing on administrative duties rather than his previous intensive schedule.
