Feira de Santana to host free contemporary dance performance “Fiu Fiu”

The contemporary dance-theater production “Fiu Fiu – Um Encontro entre Pássaros” will be performed for free this Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in Praça da Kalilândia, located in the center of Feira de Santana. Performed by the Cuiabá-based Grupo Tibanaré, the 50-minute show is suitable for children aged three and older.

The performance uses movement, dance, and clowning rather than spoken words to tell the story of two different bird species meeting and engaging in a courtship ritual. The production draws inspiration from Brazilian popular culture, specifically the “lambadão cuiabano” from Mato Grosso, to explore themes of affection, vulnerability, and coexistence.

This presentation is part of the 16th season of the “Diversão em Cena” program, a cultural democratization initiative promoted by the ArcelorMittal Foundation in partnership with Belgo Arames. The show has previously toured more than nine Brazilian states and has been featured in international festivals in countries including Angola, Argentina, Cape Verde, Chile, China, the United States, and Turkey.
