Feira de Santana to support recyclers during Micareta festival

The Feira de Santana City Hall will establish two recycling collection points within the Maneca Ferreira circuit during the Micareta festival, scheduled for November 19 to 22, 2026. The initiative aims to support approximately 100 registered collectors from six associations, an increase of about 20 participants compared to the previous year.

One collection point will be located near the Bus Station in the central region, and the second will be situated near the Amélio Amorim Cultural Center in the Capuchinhos neighborhood. The program will collect aluminum cans, plastic packaging, and cardboard.

To support the workers, the Municipal Secretariat of Public Services (Sesp) will provide food, personal protective equipment (PPE), and transportation for the collected materials to the associations' headquarters. The project is designed to promote environmental preservation, reduce landfill waste, and generate income for local collectors.
