Felgueiras landowners face new fees for property georeferencing after September 30

Landowners of rustic or mixed properties in Felgueiras, Portugal, have until September 30 to complete the georeferencing process of their properties free of charge through the Balcão Único do Prédio (BUPi).

Starting October 1, georeferenced identification will no longer be free and will become a legal requirement for several formal acts. The Georeferenced Graphic Representation (RGG) will be mandatory for all deeds involving the transfer of property rights to ensure precise delimitation of areas and locations. Additionally, the RGG will be required when applying for state subsidies, incentives, or any form of financial support.

This change follows Decree-Law 87/2026, which modified previous legislation to improve territorial planning and strengthen rural fire prevention strategies. For rustic or mixed properties with an area equal to or less than 50 hectares, the free service is only available until the end of this month. After this period, each RGG will incur a fixed cost of 15 euros, which will adjust to 10 euros per representation starting from the tenth unit registered by the same owner.
