Felicitas Alvite trial: expert reports high speed in fatal crash
During the trial of Felicitas Alvite, also known as “La Toretto,” a mechanical engineer testified that she was driving between 82 and 85 kilometers per hour at the time of the fatal collision with motorcyclist Rubén Walter Armand on April 12, 2024.
Expert Andrés Raggio stated that security camera footage showed Alvite crossed six red lights during a 3,000-meter stretch prior to the accident. The forensic analysis determined that braking maneuvers were too late to avoid the impact, with braking marks appearing only 1.38 meters before the collision. Raggio also noted that Alvite appeared to lose control of the vehicle immediately after the impact.
Alvite is charged with simple homicide with eventual intent, a crime that carries a potential prison sentence of 8 to 25 years. During the proceedings, Alvite expressed remorse to the victim's family and addressed the controversy surrounding her social media nickname, stating that her image had been distorted by a TikTok video.
