Felipe Cabrera Sarabia released from U.S. prison facing deportation

Felipe Cabrera Sarabia, known as ‘El Inge’, a former Sinaloa Cartel operator, has been released from U.S. prison and is currently facing deportation to Mexico. Cabrera, 56, completed his sentence following a guilty plea for heroin trafficking in a federal court in Illinois.

His sentence included credit for time served in Mexico after his initial capture in 2011. Following his release from the Federal Bureau of Prisons on September 4, he was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He is currently being held at a processing center in Adelanto, California.

During his legal proceedings, Cabrera provided details regarding heroin sales conducted in 2008 under the instructions of Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada. He had previously led a criminal cell within the Sinaloa Cartel organization.
