Felipe Santana reveals past altercation between Robert Lewandowski and Lucas Barrios

Former Borussia Dortmund defender Felipe Santana has revealed details regarding a physical altercation between Robert Lewandowski and teammate Lucas Barrios during their time at the club.

According to Santana, speaking on the Charla Podcast, the tension stemmed from a shift in playing roles. Following an injury sustained by Barrios during the 2011 Copa America, Lewandowski began to secure a more prominent position in the starting lineup, while Barrios moved to a substitute role.

Santana reported that the conflict escalated when Lewandowski repeatedly ignored Barrios' attempts to greet him during substitutions. After Barrios warned teammates he would confront the Polish striker, a physical confrontation occurred during a match against Bayer Leverkusen, where Barrios reportedly struck Lewandowski in the face.
