Felipe VI inaugurates Iberdrola 125th anniversary exhibition in Madrid

King Felipe VI has inaugurated the exhibition ‘Un viaje electrizante: una experiencia inmersiva Iberdrola’ at the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid. The event marks the beginning of celebrations for Iberdrola’s 125th anniversary as part of the ‘125 años luz’ program.

Accompanied by Iberdrola CEO Ignacio Galán, the Minister of Industry and Tourism Jordi Hereu, and Madrid Mayor José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the King toured an exhibit that explores the technological evolution of electricity. The display features historical tools, mixed reality environments, and interactive demonstrations regarding energy security, self-sufficiency, and environmental protection.

Separately, discussions regarding renewable energy in Andalusia highlighted the critical need for improved electrical grids and storage infrastructure. Experts noted that while the region has significant renewable potential, the lack of infrastructure to manage the gap between generation and peak consumption remains a major challenge for the energy transition.
