Felix Anthony Salazar III charged with running drug ring from Mexican prison

Federal prosecutors have charged Felix Anthony Salazar III, a 34-year-old New Mexico man, for allegedly operating a drug distribution ring from a Mexican prison. The investigation, which began in September 2025, targeted a group moving methamphetamine and fentanyl smuggled from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

According to federal indictments, Salazar coordinated multiple drug sales to undercover agents while incarcerated in Mexico. These transactions involved various associates who acted as drivers and delivery personnel. Salazar turned himself in to federal authorities at an international port of entry in El Paso following his release from prison. Several other individuals have been arrested and charged with drug conspiracy in connection with the operation.
