Félix Auger-Aliassime defeats Stefanos Tsitsipas in Cincinnati

Félix Auger-Aliassime secured a place in the third round of the Cincinnati Open with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas. The win marks a successful return to the ATP Tour for the Canadian, who had previously withdrawn from the National Bank Open due to a back injury.

Auger-Aliassime, the tournament's second seed and world number four, controlled much of the first set, leading 6-3. The second set proved more competitive; Tsitsipas managed to break back to level the score at 5-5, but Auger-Aliassime responded with a decisive break and held his serve to close the match. This victory represents only the fourth time Auger-Aliassime has defeated Tsitsipas in their 11 career meetings.

Tsitsipas, ranked 49th, will now shift his focus toward the upcoming US Open. Auger-Aliassime advances to face either Arthur Rinderknech or Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the next round.
