Canada leads France 2-0 in Davis Cup qualifier

Liam Draxl secured the first point for Canada with a straight-sets upset over world No. 32 Arthur Rinderknech, winning 6-2, 7-5. Following this, world No. 5 Félix Auger-Aliassime defeated Quentin Halys in a three-set match, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-3.

The French team, which was playing without top-ranked Arthur Fils, faces a critical Saturday schedule to attempt a comeback. The upcoming matches include a doubles contest and additional singles matches to determine if France can stay in the competition.
