US Open 2026: Sabalenka and Pegula advance amid Auger-Aliassime upset
The US Open 2026 has seen significant movement in the player rankings following several high-profile matches. World number one Aryna Sabalenka advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Kamilla Rakhimova in straight sets (6-3, 6-4), continuing her pursuit of a third consecutive title.
In a major upset, third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime was eliminated in the second round by Karen Khachanov. Khachanov won 6-7, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. Following the match, Auger-Aliassime reported feeling physically unwell, citing dizziness and seeing spots, and stated he intends to undergo medical testing.
