Felix Auger-Aliassime withdraws from Brussels and Basel due to knee injury
Canadian tennis player Felix Auger-Aliassime has announced a two-week break from competition following a knee injury sustained during the Shanghai Masters. The injury occurred during his round-of-16 match against Casper Ruud, where he was forced to retire while trailing 5-2.
As a result of this hiatus, Auger-Aliassime will withdraw from the upcoming ATP 250 tournament in Brussels and the ATP 500 in Basel. The decision aims to prioritize recovery in hopes of returning for the Paris Masters 1000 and the Davis Cup.
Currently ranked fifth in the ATP rankings, the withdrawal means the player will not be able to defend the 250 points earned from his victory in Brussels last year. His ability to qualify for the ATP Finals remains uncertain following this setback.
